A lot of my current skincare essentials are from Porcelain because that’s where I go for my facials and skin treatments. I love their Quintessential Facial for my routine extractions and since I love being out in the sun so much, the Sun Rescue Facial provides the reparative care my skin needs. Right now, I’m in a phase where less is definitely more – I try to have less makeup and skincare products on my skin on most days to minimise clogging and let my skin breathe. For mornings, I cleanse my skin with Porcelain’s Hydro Cleanser, spritz on the Deep Hydrating Lotion followed by the Hydraclear Gel, which helps to keep acne and pimples at bay. I like using a water-based moisturiser for the day time so my skin doesn’t get too oily and my favourites are Peter Thomas Roth’s Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream and Laniege’s Water Bank Sleeping Mask.
My night time routine has a few more steps, though it largely depends on how lazy I am (not) feeling. To remove my makeup, I use Hemp Seed Oil in the shower or the Biore Cleansing Oil Cotton Facial Sheets if I need it quick and mess-free. To tone my skin after cleansing, I use either Porcelain’s Glycolic Toner or Kiehl’s Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol Free Toner. Right after, I’ll slather on Porcelain’s HA+ Hydrating Serum, which is an all-in-one anti-ageing and anti-acne moisturising magic potion for my sensitive skin. If I’m feeling lazy but in need of some pampering, I’ll throw on a sheet mask, either Porcelain’s Hydrocare Bio-Cellulose Mask or For Beloved Girl’s Extreme Moisture Mineral Cloud-Silk Mask, alongside the Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber De-Tox™ Hydra-Gel Eye Patches. To exfoliate, I like using Porcelain’s Natural Skin Refiner. Some other skincare favourites that I like to throw in the mix are the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, my customised My Daily Dose serums from Skin Inc and the 1A All Day Mask from Allies of Skin. Another skincare must-have for me is the Skin Inc Optimizer Voyage Tri-Light – I use this on nights when I have my complete night time routine slapped on and I absolutely swear by it!
I prefer doing pamper routines in the comfort of my own home, I find it really therapeutic to set aside a whole evening to taking care of myself. I really enjoy doing my own nails, it’s something I’ve become really good at! Everyone thinks I get them done professionally at a salon and that they’re acrylic extensions; I get a real kick out of it when they are shocked to learn that I do them myself, with my real nails and regular polish. For my hair, I go to AIR Salon at The Cathay. I’ve been going to them for years now and I don’t trust anyone else to cut, colour or style my hair besides my main stylist, Vincent. At home, I swear by The Ouai’s Treatment Masque – it’s incredibly moisturising for my chemically damaged hair!
I try to keep my daily makeup routine at a bare minimum as I am not a morning person – the more time I have to sleep, the better! For my base, my everyday go-to is the First Aid Beauty Triple Protection Skin Tint as it’s got SPF and gives decent coverage with a light and natural skin finish. If I’m having a good skin day, I skip that step and use IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness Correcting Cream to quickly cover up some redness and jump straight to concealer for my under eyes and blemishes. I rotate between the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer and Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer. For my eyebrows, I use Benefit’s Ka-brow and Hourglass Arch Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel. I like pretending that I have full and fluffy brows, à la Brooke Shields, and these two products help me achieve that look. I don’t use eyeshadows on most days, so just a few coats of mascara and I’m good to go. My favourite mascaras are Too Faced’s Better Than Sex or IT Cosmetics’ Superhero for my upper lashes, and YSL Beauty Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Waterproof for my lower lashes. For the rest of my face, I finish off with a quick dusting of bronzer, blusher and highlighter – NARS’ Laguna Bronzer, Tarte’s Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Sensual and Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Opal. A quick spritz of Urban Decay’s De-Slick Finishing Spray and I am sprinting out of the door right after!
