Chanel Unveils The Spectacular World Of Fragrances At Le Grand Numéro De Chanel In Paris
Soak in the festivities
For the first time ever, Chanel has put together an exhibition to honour and highlight its fragrance creations. The Le Grande Numéro de Chanel will run from 15 December 2022 to 9 January 2023, and promises a treat for the senses.
The journey starts off with a ringmaster's introduction of your journey, guiding you towards the centre of the exhibition, with a sky sparkling with symbols of N°5, its emblematic bottles, lucky stars and camellia flowers.
From there, there are five exhibition rooms to enter, each highlighting the exquisite scent creation from Chanel—N°5, Chance, Bleu de Chanel, Coco Mademoiselle and Les Exclusifs de Chanel.
Journey to 1921
Travelling back to 1921, the VR experience allows you to play the role of perfumer Ernest Beaux, who famously presented Gabrielle Chanel with fragrance samples where she eventually picked the 5th one, the most famous fragrance ever produced. This multi-sensory experience allows you to participate in this recreation of that faithful day where N°5 was named and chosen to be presented on the fifth day of the fifth month of that year, after her favourite number.
N°5 became a global phenomenon, and the exhibition perfectly highlights its journey, composition and the muses who fronted the N°5 campaigns since its conception.
Take a Chance
The stage is set. Inspired by Gabrielle Chanel's experience singing on the stage in Moulins around 1901, this section of the exhibition takes place backstage at the cabaret, allowing you to soak in its electrifying atmosphere.
City boy, city life
The city never sleeps. Soak up the energizing spirit of city dwellers, where buildings and skyscrapers come alive—reflecting the heart and soul of Bleu de Chanel.
Heroine of her story
In this room is the control centre, where you are the director of your own heroine story, just as Coco Chanel was. She loved the romantic heroines of great novels, who experienced intense love without ever allowing it—and certainly never a man—to hinder them
Prized collection
Finally, a gallery of moving art complete this scent journey with the 18 Les Exclusifs de Chanel fragrances. Each a unique surprise, full of elegance, luxury, mystery and boldness.
