Over the years, Queen Elizabeth has proven that she has very specific taste. She owns more than 200 versions of the same purse, ends each night with a glass of bubbly, and won't travel without her favorite dessert on hand.

So it's no surprise that Her Royal Majesty's methodical nature extends to her nail care. Apparently she will only wear one particular shade of pink from the Essie collection. The iconic "Ballet Slippers" nail polish is a celebrated favorite of beauty bloggers and celebrities alike. It's a modest hue that wouldn't clash with any of the Queen's bright outfits and is subtle enough to stay hidden under her white gloves.

Queen Elizabeth has been a fan of the pink polish since before 1989, when her hairdresser sent the company a letter requesting a bottle of "the only color Her Majesty would wear." A close look at the Queen's fingernails suggests it really is possible that she's remained loyal to the shade for all these years.

And at just $9 a bottle, this nail polish preference is certainly more manageable than her expensive purse habit.
