In the world of all things Meghan Markle, the woman behind her glowing skin is at the top of an esteemed list. London-based facialist Nichola Joss, whose other clients include Kate Moss and Alicia Keys, is known for much more than recommending a decent moisturizer. She performs a kneading facial massage in which she works skin from the inside as well as the outside, a technique she created called an inner facial, which lifts and firms cheeks.

“It releases stress and tension, which can build up when one is planning a wedding,” Joss says. In 2014, Markle even told Birchbox that when she sees Joss “my cheekbones and jawline are way more sculpted.”

If jetting to her salon or booking an appointment during her New York City residency at Serge Normant at John Frieda is not an option, you can get similar benefits at home. Each night pat an oil onto your face and neck, then massage it in with your fingertips, moving upward and outward. Glide bent knuckles along your jawline, then finish by pressing the heels of your hands under your cheeks. In addition to a face-lift effect, massage also flushes the skin with blood and nutrients, improving its clarity, health, and radiance over time.

And the best part: “You don’t need any downtime after,” says Joss, “so you can fit in a quick massage the morning of your wedding.”
