Let's face it: We've always wanted to have healthy coloured hair like Irene Kim and flawless skin like Jayne Min. There might still be hope, as we polled some of our favourite Asian belles in fashion to share their best kept beauty secrets. Tip: You might want to stick to the same stylist.
Tina Craig, founder of The Bag Snob
Colourist: Kevin at Code 5 in Los Angeles has been doing my hair since the '90s. I even had a moment of madness with bright blue and blonde streaked hair (don't ask).
Hairstylist: Kayla Pak at John Barrett styles my hair for events when I'm in nyc. I love how she styles and braids my stubborn straight Asian hair into submission. Confession: When I don't have time to see my hair stylist in Los Angeles, I snip and trim my own hair. I own a pair of Japanese professional shears from Kamisori that I love. I have been cutting my own hair (and any cousin or friend that will allow me) since I was 13 years old! I'm booking victims for free (experimental) haircuts if anyone is interested.
Hair on the go: Celebrity hair founder Adriana Tesler (founder of the Beauty Friend, the original beauty app) has done my hair from New York to LA. She will come to my hotel, my backyard, my girlfriend's bathroom—whatever it takes to get me ready..
Favourite Shampoo/Conditioner: Currently obsessed with Living Proof. Especially the blow out spray, I don't like to wash my hair more than twice a week and this keeps my blowouts looking great for days.
Facialist: Renee Rouleau, her innovative approach to treatments and products has kept my skin youthful and glowing for over 15 years. She is based in Austin but has salons in Dallas, as well as taking appointments every few months in Los Angeles and New York City. I swear by her Bio-brasion facial—it's a must before any important events.
Makeup artist: It's hard to find make up artists who can do my make up without making me look like a dragon lady. In NYC or LA I like Emily Cheng. In Dallas I depend on Carmen Wilson.
Favourite makeup brands: Bobbi Brown lip glosses. Chantecaille eye shadows. Giorgio Armani Maestro eraser concealer. Charlotte Tilbury Rock-n-kohl liquid eye pencils. Koh Gendo Aqua foundation illuminator.
Favourite face wash: Beauty Bioscience Balancing Cleanser cleans every trace of makeup without stripping oils from my skin.
Go-to lip colour: Chantecaille's Noctourne Lip Chic is the perfect shade of pink for brunettes and Asians.
Dermatologist: I don't have a dermatologist! Is that bad?

Vanessa Hong, founder of The Haute Pursuit
Go-to hair colourist/hairstylist: Sarah Braim in Vancouver—I travel like crazy but always make it a priority to see Sarah once a month because no one else touches my hair.
Favourite Shampoo/Conditioner: Jhirmack Silver Shampoo, it's actually for women with grey hair but I use it religiously to keep the yellowing at bay.
Makeup artist: Lisa Thai in New York—being Asian it's really important to have someone understand the Asian face. Lisa gets this and always makes me look and feel great.
Favourite makeup brands: La Prairie, La Mer, Clarins, Marc Jacobs, NARS
Favourite face wash: Embryolisse Micellar Lotion
Go-to lip colour: NARS Volga matte is my favourite when I wear colour.

Go-to hair colourist: I go to Meg at Marie Robinson, she was the genius behind my platinum hair.
Go-to hairstylist: Jessica at Marie Robinson
Favourite Shampoo/Conditioner: Frederic Fekkai, I used his colour treated shampoo, conditioner and mask when I was blonde.
Facialist: Christine Chin Spa, you leave the appointment looking like a hot mess but your skin looks and feel amazing 2 days after.
Makeup artist: Dana Del Rae because she knows exactly how I like my cat eye or Tracy Alfajora.
Favourite makeup brands: NARS exclusively, I rarely buy any other product.
Favourite face wash: Shiseido Ikubi Gentle Cleanser
Go-to lip colour: Korres lip butter in pomegranate, it keeps my lips soft with a hint of colour.
Dermatologist: A fellow Asian friend recommended Dr. Grace Pak a few years ago and I've been going so her ever since. I've had a long battle with oily/acne prone skin and she's helped me get control of it.
