Britney Spears And Sam Asghari Deny Claims That An Intervention Was Staged For The Pop Star

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari are hitting back at reports that claim the pop star's inner circle staged a failed intervention amid growing concerns for her mental health and well-being.
TMZ reported that multiple sources had become alarmed by her behaviour, with one insider telling the outlet, "I'm afraid she's gonna die." Spears's manager allegedly rented a house in Los Angeles for several months, where Asghari, the manager, and doctors would be present in order to convince her to receive treatment. When Spears became aware of the plan, per TMZ, the intervention was scrapped. The outlet noted that Spears's estranged family members, father Jamie Spears and mom Lynne Spears, as well as her two sons, were not involved.

The singer addressed the claims in an Instagram post last night. She posted a text graphic image that read, "A state of gratitude will shift you to a higher frequency." In the caption, she slammed the reports.
"It makes me sick to my stomach that it's even legal for people to make up stories that I almost died … I mean at some point enough is enough !!!" she wrote. "I'm probably going to have to stop posting on Instagram because even though I enjoy doing it, there's obviously a lot of people who don't wish me well !!! I'm honestly not surprised at all … Again doing the best I can !!! Again, the conservatorship has been over for almost a year … No folks, it's not 2007 … it's 2023 and I'm making my first homemade lasagna at home !!! I finally got my fireplace to work in my living room !!! As my hubby says it best: don't believe everything you read !!! All that love right back at ya !!!"

Asghari also denied the TMZ story via a statement released to Access Hollywood's Mario Lopez.
"An intervention did not occur. My wife is in full control of her life and will continue to make all decisions involving her care regardless of circumstances. Speculation on her health is inappropriate and should end immediately," he said.
Reports of a failed intervention emerged less than a month after fans called police to perform a wellness check at her Calabasas home, citing her deleting her Instagram account as cause for concern. A spokesperson for the Ventura County Sheriff's Office told TMZ that police checked on Spears at her home but determined there was no reason to believe she was in danger.
"I love and adore my fans but this time things went a little too far and my privacy was invaded," Spears said of the incident in a statement posted to Twitter. "This felt like I was being gaslit and bullied once the incident made it to the news and being portrayed once again in a poor and unfair light by the media. During this time in my life, I truly hope the public and my fans who I care so much about can respect my privacy moving forward. All the love, B."

It's been a little more than a year since a judge terminated Spears's 13-year conservatorship, during which, she alleged, she was forced to work while undergoing mandated mental health treatment. The star previously said that her "dad and anyone involved in this conservatorship, including my management … they should be in jail."
