Cate Blanchett Is Taking A Break From Acting In 2016

Cate Blanchett is Harper's BAZAAR UK's February cover star, posing for Norman Jean Roy in an ethereal Erdem gown and Armani blazer. Inside, she opened up about the latest addition to her family, a daughter, Edith, whom she adopted with husband Andrew Upton in March: "You're on the list and then you get the call," she said of the process. "You don't know anything about the child you're going to meet." She continued: "Our three biological children have been extraordinary. It's been wonderful watching them become a little brood."

Thanks to the new baby and a busy family life, the two-time Oscar winner also revealed she'll be taking time off in the new year ("I'm not planning on working much in 2016 either"), though fans can still catch her on the red carpet: Blanchett is currently nominated for nine awards for her role in Carol, including a Golden Globe, a SAG and a Critics' Choice Award.
