Cynthia Nixon Celebrates Sarah Jessica Parker’s Birthday With Throwback Photo

“So glad to still be walking next to you after all this time.”

Friends who star in a six-season cult-classic comedy series together stay together.

Over the weekend, Cynthia Nixon celebrated longtime friend and Sex and the City costar Sarah Jessica Parker's birthday with a throwback photo of the two on set. (Parker turned 58 on March 25.)

In the image, Nixon (who plays lawyer Miranda Hobbes) wears a sheer black top with an abstract orangey print, paired with grey wide-leg cropped pants, silver sandals, and a patterned bag to match her top. Parker (who plays the lead, writer Carrie Bradshaw) wears a cobalt blue sundress with gold sandals, a matching purse, gold hoop earrings, and a gold necklace with a pink heart pendant. They are seen chatting while walking down the streets of Manhattan.

"Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver, the other is gold. A circle is round, it has no end. That's how long, I will be your friend. Happy birthday to my old friend @sarahjessicaparker. So glad to still be walking next to you after all this time," Nixon wrote in the post caption.

Sex and the City kicked off in 1998. Though it ended six years later, in 2004, Parker and Nixon have remained good friends, and have often supported and congratulated each other on different milestones via social media and in interviews. In 2017, Nixon posted a photo of them together at a film premiere, and in 2018, Parker proudly stood by Nixon when the actress decided to run for governor of New York.

The friends also came together in 2021 to film the SATC reboot, And Just Like That..., which premiered that December and is now on its second season (to be released this summer).

Parker and Nixon have also remained close with SATC costar Kristin Davis (who plays Charlotte York), though Park famously had a falling out with Kim Cattrall (who played Samantha Jones), who declined to be part of the series reboot.
