Dakota Johnson has brought her classic, minimalist style to Milan.

The Persuasion star made a glamorous appearance at vermouth brand Martini’s 160th anniversary party last night. She pulled a look from Versace’s Fall/Winter 2023 runway, selecting a sleek and sophisticated gown in an inky black hue. The strapless dress featured form-fitting tailoring, as well as a subtle silver Medusa medallion at the center of the bust. She paired the piece with glossy black slingback pumps, and further accessorised with glittering diamond statement earrings and a stack of diamond bracelets to match.

Johnson’s public appearances often have the actor dressed in elegant all-black ensembles.

Back in May, she sat front row at Gucci’s Cruise 2024 runway show while tapping into this season’s viral lingerie trend. The centrepiece of her outfit was a lacy mesh slip dress with a bejewelled mesh skirt with a floral black lace underlay. She layered the dress underneath a long leather trench coat, then continued the black monochromatic theme with her accessories: a mini black Gucci Jackie bag and black heeled pumps.

She previously toyed with the lingerie trend in another all-black look during Milan Fashion Week this past February. At the time, she wore a black sheer V-cut bodysuit emblazoned with Gucci’s signature Diamante pattern. She wore the statement piece with a black blazer and matching miniskirt, both of which also bore the house’s logo print. She topped off the outfit with sheer black tights from Calzedonia, knee-high heeled leather boots, and a black iteration of Gucci’s Jackie 1961 bag with a green handle and dozens of spiky silver studs.
