Christmas with the British royal family is never boring. Known for their family tradition of gifting each other amusing novelty gifts (Prince Harry once gifted his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II a shower cap that read, “Ain’t Life a Bitch”), the royals love to have a laugh around the holidays. So it’s no surprise that Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, wanted to make a lasting impression on her very first Christmas at Sandringham.
In Finding Freedom, the new royal biography about the Sussexes by BAZAAR.com's royal editor, Omid Scobie, and Carolyn Durand, Meghan apparently hit the jackpot with a certain clever gift.

Royal gift giving was “an audition like no other, and [Meghan] wanted to impress her future royal relatives. To that end, Meghan's biggest challenge was finding the perfect novelty gifts to amuse her new extended family. At least one of her gifts was a huge hit—a spoon for William that had ‘cereal killer’'embossed on the shallow bowl end of the utensil,” the book detailed, according to Town & Country.
After that Christmas in 2017, Meghan spent just one more holiday at Sandringham. Last year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to skip the festivities at the estate in lieu of elongating their holiday break in Canada. Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, joined them.
