Princess Kate Paired An '80s-Style Blazer And Pleated Skirt For Wimbledon

Catherine, Princess of Wales, put a retro spin on Wimbledon's colour scheme for her first appearance at this year's Championships.

The royal attended the second day of the famed tennis tournament this morning, where she viewed matches on the outer and main courts. For the occasion, Kate looked back to the '80s, wearing a pastel green blazer by Balmain, which features contrasting white lapels and fabric buttons and evokes some of Princess Diana's best-known looks. She paired the jacket with a white midi-length skirt with delicate pleats, adding a pair of white pointed-toe heels by Gianvito Rossi.
Her accessories included her beloved pearl drop earrings from London-based brand Shyla, a gold cuff bracelet by Sézane, and a small white Mulberry Amberley bag. She also wore her dark-green and purple bow pin, which she wears every year as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

For her first match, Kate watched British player Katie Boulter compete on one of the Outer Courts. The princess utilised a large green and purple Wimbledon umbrella to keep dry under the slightly rainy weather. She later made her return to the royal box, where she watched the match alongside tennis legend Roger Federer.

Kate recently made her own debut on the All England Lawn Tennis Club's famed courts, while celebrating the ball boys and girls who help Wimbledon run smoothly. While filming a promo clip, the princess joined eight-time Wimbledon champion Federer and two other players for a doubles rally, before observing the regimented training sessions where the BBGs learn techniques ahead of the games.
