Princess Kate Teamed Up With Roger Federer To Celebrate Wimbledon Ball Boys And Girls
The duo filmed a behind-the-scenes clip ahead of the famed tournament
Catherine, Princess of Wales, got the chance to train with a tennis legend ahead of Wimbledon.

The longtime tennis enthusiast joined eight-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer to film a behind-the-scenes clip celebrating the Ball Boys and Girls (BBGs) who help the famed tournament run smoothly. In the four-minute video, which was recorded earlier this month, the princess and the tennis pro observe the regimented training sessions where the BBGs learn techniques ahead of the games.
Kate, who wears a pristine white tennis top and in the short film, starts off the clip with a doubles rally alongside Federer and two other players, before participating in multiple training sessions involving signaling, ball changes, rolling balls up to the net, and the correct techniques to bounce the balls to players.

The pair also spoke meet with returning and prospective BBGs to hear about their experiences in training for the role, before posing for a group portrait.
"To see the training and the dedication and the amount of time that is put into the training and making sure this goes well on the day for the champions who are playing at Wimbledon… It's incredible to see it behind the scenes," Kate says at the end of the video.

There are approximately 250 teens in the Ball Boys and Girls at Wimbledon, with the average age among them being 15, per the tournament's website. They begin training in February at the Raynes Park Community Sports Ground ahead of this year's games, which will take place on July 3 through 16.
