MARCH 2012: “I actually asked Cindy Crawford if she could help connect me with Christy Turlington, while I was having coffee with Cindy in Capri. George Clooney was seated beside us, which made it even more surreal. Three months later, Christy showed up on set for my cover shoot. I styled her in Tod’s, Tiffany & Co. and white plastic bangles I bought from a roadside stall in Udaipur. SEPTEMBER 2013: “We shot on the same day that David Beckham announced his retirement from football, so the hotel lobby was covered with paparazzi. Nonetheless, Victoria turned up like a pro, and worked like a fiend in front of legendary Ellen von Unwerth’s lens. FEBRUARY 2011: “The team and I had lots of fun doing this shoot in an old school hair salon located under a block of HDB flats. This salon, a relic from the ’80s, captured the essence of Singapore in that period. For the shoot, I thought it would be interesting to create a hairstyle for the models inspired by ‘aunties’ from the same period, whom I feel are true icons of Singapore.”—Marc Teng, Hairstylist

APRIL 2010: “I was standing right behind Kenneth when Simon Upton captured this moment. Milla Jovovich was so effortless and intentional at the same time, aware of every aspect of the look from what she wore to how she posed. In one shot, she chose to hold the waiter’s notebook and pen with a Cara Croninger cuff, and it gave me chills when I realised that instead of taking orders, she was giving them.”—Rebecca Alexis, Contributing Stylist

OCTOBER 2015: “My first experience with a spread shot across Singapore was in 2008 as an intern. This image of ninja-like models at Marina Barrage made me realise how much the area has evolved since then, when cranes and construction sites formed the backdrop. AUGUST 2008: “This was Burberry at Tanah Merah station—the first shot on the last day of our epic four-day extravaganza, and we had closed down two passenger cars for this. The silence from curious Bystanders was broken only by the sounds of the camera shutter and verbal directions from Kenneth and Georges Antoni. The mood was electric and I had goosebumps as I’d never seen such glamour on the MRT before! Eight years have passed, and I still try to replicate this shot on my daily morning commute. Firstly, let’s spare a thought for the twins who had to carry the girls with no assistance, and had to stay super still as it was bordering on nighttime. To add insult to injury, the water was freezing cold and the wind felt like it was the start of Hurricane Katrina. As they say, nothing good comes easy. MARCH 2010: “Cockatoo Island was chosen as the location for its rustic charm. Kenneth and I wanted to create a juxtaposition between the Old and New Worlds. Having worked with the models previously, I knew they could portray the fun and fantastic world of animated actors from silent films in the ’20s. DECEMBER 2015: “I wanted to contrast the old European feel of Paris with a modern Asian statement. Park Soo Joo, with her distinctly Asian features and edgy blonde hair, is the perfect representation of a modern woman of our times. This haute couture brocade coat dress from Ulyana Sergeenko complemented the French antique chair beautifully, much like the indescribable synergy between Kenneth’s vision and my creativity.
