Tom Holland Is Grateful Zendaya Put Up With His 'Crazy' Hair For 10 Months

As Tom Holland promotes his new Apple TV+ series, The Crowded Room, we're getting cute new insights about him and Zendaya's adorable relationship. Turns out that in order to play his character, Danny Sullivan, Holland had to undergo quite the physical transformation. The actor sat down with the Radio Times earlier this month to discuss his truly unfortunate hairstyle in the series, which follows young Danny in 1979, when he gets arrested following a shooting in New York City.

In case you've somehow missed all the recent advertisements for the show, Holland's character sports dark brown, scraggly curls which suit the character's "may-or-may-not-be-a-murderer" vibe (In the interview, Holland mentions that he instead prefers hair "like my mom's, kind of red"). But Holland is far from that in real life, and it's safe to say even a smiling Tom Holland couldn't salvage the look.

But that's not all - Holland had to maintain the look for almost a full year. "I think a large reason for that is when you make a film, it only takes four months, and that would be considered a long film," the actor said, "But The Crowded Room, it’s 10 months of playing this character, day in and day out. I really did find myself kind of morphing with him in certain moments. And obviously I had that crazy hairstyle."

As a result, Zendaya had to put up with the less-than-desirable hairstyle for longer than she might've liked, something that Holland himself was acutely aware of. "I had the bangs," the actor said. "Bless Zendaya, she had a lot to put up with, with me looking like that for 10 months, it was rough."

The Crowded Room is now streaming on Apple TV+.
