The January of fashion is always a confusing one. In the publishing world, it’s pushing out a magazine that’s a little past Christmas, a tad before New Year and with Chinese New Year round the corner.
It’s a celebratory month yet also the start of the New Year so ladies are gearing up their wardrobes for a refresh for the year ahead. Everyone is taking ski trips and sojourns to cooler climes, when it’s actually burning hot in our Garden City. It’s a month of extremes. Fashion wise, I can’t quite decide if
we should still be in Cruise mode with nautical stripes and easy floral prints or go straight into the new spring/summer collections. So, we’ve given you both options: Early spring surprises as well as updated modern classics.

This issue is devoted to the pursuit of happiness.And I couldn’t think of a more happy, content and sexy girl than Kate Upton to grace our cover. I don’t think I have ever seen this blonde funny girl frown. She is fresh, genuine, a little on the fuller side but damn, she is one hot, happy girl. Bouncing in our shoot with dogs everywhere, you can’t help but smile with her as you flip the pages.
Gerald Tan, our Associate Fashion News Editor, has collected quotes from celebrities and models on their concept of happiness as well. Certainly not mottos to strictly live by, they nonetheless steer us
in the direction of a smile.
