A mesmerising collection.

Dior Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2022/2023

Held at the Rodin Museum in Paris on July 4, Dior presented a dreamy haute couture collection for fall/winter 2022-23, with a set designed by Ukrainian artist Olesia Trofymenko, who was inspired by the tree of life.

A symbol of “connection between cultures, mythologies and all forms of creation”, creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri reimagined the tree of life onto the pieces sent down the runway. There is an explosion of intricate floral motif on gowns and dresses, and a decidedly muted colour palette with the occasional punch of red, navy, tartan and maroon.

According to the official press release, the collection offers “a profusion of embroidery on cotton, wool crepe, silk and cashmere, while a patchwork of lace and guipure braids adorn dresses. Thanks to refined gestures of the hand, the tree of life is thus transformed into a manifesto for harmonious plurality, allowing a restoration of balance, if only momentarily.”
