Fans of Bottega Veneta will now have one more reason to visit New York—the brand that is famous for its exceptional craftsmanship and discreet take on luxury has lifted the shutters to its latest boutique on 740 Madison Ave. In a special preview ahead of its official opening, Harper's BAZAAR takes a tour of the store and rounds up everything you need to know about Bottega Veneta's latest crowning jewel.

1. It is the biggest Bottega Veneta store in the entire world

Spanning 15,000 square feet, the new five-storey outpost is located smack in the corner of Madison Avenue and East 64th Street. It is also converted from three 19th century townhouses, each one boasting a different architectural style but all refurbished and unified under the vision and direction of Tomas Maier.

2. It is also the third Bottega Veneta store to have the Maison concept

Milan welcomed the first in 2013, followed by Beverly Hills three years later. Naturally, Manhattan's towering skyscrapers provided Maier with the inspiration for the design of the store. “The store reflects the love and admiration I have for this city and its architecture,”explained Maier in a release. Custom display cases and brushed brass ceilings, for example, evoke the magic of the Big Apple as it sparkles under the sun.

3. There is everything one can ask for... and more!

From ready-to-wear selection to homeware, you can now dress yourself—and your humble abode—at this all-in-one stop.

4. A special capsule collection is also available exclusively at the store

To fête its opening, Maier conceptualised a 33-piece collection of leather goods for men and women. New York natives and out-of-towners will instantly recognise the city's skylines and the subway map rendered as abstract embroideries on Bottega Veneta's range of clutches and handbags.

5. The brand is also staging a special, one-off catwalk presentation in New York as part of the celebrations

Bottega Veneta opened its first overseas store in New York in 1972. What better way to highlight the importance of the Big Apple in Bottega Veneta's past, present and future than a momentous runway show at the American Stock Exchange? The Italian luxury powerhouse will return to regular programming and show in Milan for the spring/summer 2019 season.
