The British Fashion Awards will take place this coming Monday (4 December) at the Royal Albert Hall – and exciting news about the event is coming in thick and fast. Today, it has been revealed that Donatella Versace will be honoured with the most coveted accolade, Fashion Icon, and the award ceremony will be presented by unlikely duo Karlie Kloss and Jack Whitehall.

The Fashion Icon award will celebrate both Donatella Versace and her brother Gianni, who tragically died 20 years ago. The brand’s “creativity, innovation, glamour and power” will be recognised, as well as the way in which Donatella has maintained the standard of her brother’s iconic brand since his death.

“I am truly honoured to be collecting the Fashion Icon Award at The Fashion Awards 2017,” Donatella said in a statement. “For 40 years my brother and I have done what we love and that is a legacy I am honoured to continue and uphold. We have celebrated empowerment, joy and of course glamour. We have championed a community of people who share our values and together with them have created truly iconic images in the world of fashion.”

The British Fashion Council also announced today that Karlie Kloss and Jack Whitehall would play host during the award ceremony, with a number of guest presenters also helping to dish out the awards.

Alongside this news, we also know that Stella McCartney will be honoured for her efforts to champion sustainability and Dior's Maria Grazia Chiuri for "positive change". We are expecting a flock of A-listers also to be making an appearance at the event – alongside the unlikely guest of Miss Piggy – with Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kaia Gerber, Alessandro Michele and Rihanna all nominated.

It looks set to be a night to remember.
