Here's Why This Italian Bag Brand Is A Fashion Girl's Style Weapon

From everyday classics to head-turning statement bags, Furla is a favourite when it comes to bags and accessories

This was created by Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore for Furla

With expert craftsmanship, beauty, and Italian culture at the heart of its brand, Furla was started in Bologna, Italy, in 1927 by the Furlanetto family—who still runs the company today. Fast forward ninety years, the Italian brand has evolved from a single-store family business to an inspirational lifestyle brand committed to offering its customers quality fashion accessories and bags.

Fall/Winter 2017 collection

Speaking of a rich history, Furla's fall/winter 2017 collection celebrates its 90th anniversary with a capsule collection of nine bags—one for each decade. From the jazz age of the '30s with glamorous numbers covered in fur and chamois, to the punk years of the '80s with leather bags decorated in studs, and glitter and floral-robotic motifs repping the tech-obsessed 2000s.

Cruise 2018 collection

While its fall/winter 2017 collection celebrated its colourful past, Furla's cruise 2018 looks forward into the future with new bag styles and materials. A new addition to the family, the Furla Elisir is definitely made to be a new classic with its clean lines and intricate details. An added bonus would be its floral motif charm which doubles up as a mirror—perfect for quick checks on a busy day. Time-honoured favourites such as the Metropolis and My Piper have also been updated with fresh hues, prints (think artfully illustrated owls and peacocks), and exclusively-developed fabrics inspired by Venetian tapestries. Our favourite? It's a tough call between the fun-loving Metropolis Jungle mini crossbody bag and the luxurious Elisir mini crossbody bag.

Furla is available at ION Orchard, Paragon, Raffles City Shopping Centre, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands and VivoCity. Visit www.furla.com for more information
