This latest celebrity collaboration is not one we could have predicted. Heidi Klum is launching a "high end" fashion collection with budget supermarket brand Lidl.

The brand confirmed that the supermodel and businesswoman has designed a range which is "accessible for everyone" and "mirrors her characteristic style".

Klum, who has previously launched her own underwear and fragrance lines, said she was "proud" to work with the German food chain, which sells its Esmara fashion collections in stores at certain times through the year.

"Lidl is known for making quality products at affordable prices and I'm proud to partner with them on this fashion collaboration," she said in a statement.

"I had so much fun designing the pieces in this collection and can't wait for you to see it. I hope you love it as much as I do!"

Ryan McDonnell, Lidl UK's commercial director, described Klum as a "global fashion icon" who he believes "will really resonate" with the brand's customers.

"We are extremely excited about offering our most premium fashion range to date, and look forward to the first collection going on sale later this year," McDonnell said.

Lidl has not released any specific details about Klum's collection, but said it would be available exclusively at its stores across Europe and the US later this year.

Klum isn't the first celebrity who's teamed up with the store; Paris Hilton announced a launch of Lidl hair-styling products in December.
