It is an exciting year for the late, great and glamourous Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe. The infamous MET Gala moment where Kim Kardashian climbed the steps in Monroe’s crystal- embellished nude illusion gown was just the tip of the iceberg.

A biographical film of the starlet is set to be released on Netflix in the coming days with Knives Out actress Ana de Armas as the lead.

While critics and fans are waiting on the edge of their seats, we dived deep into Monroe's fashion archive to take a page out of her stylish book that is still relevant today. Below, we’ve gathered a few of her signature looks that we can emulate.

The first thing that comes to mind would be Monroe’s iconic white pleated dress but she had a diverse closet, often wearing looks that involved pants when she wasn’t directly in the limelight. A simple ruby jumpsuit is comfortable yet chic and a pair of matching heels is all it takes to complete the look.

Also, Monroe doesn’t rely on jewellery or accessories to sell a look, it is all about the silhouette and the design of the garments.

Monroe embraced every aspect of her body and she was not afraid to flaunt it. Her go-to beachwear look consisted of a two-piece bikini, often featuring a bandeau top. This particular one also had embellishments that added dimension to the stark white colourway. Add on some gold hoops and transparent sandals for the perfect pool party ensemble.
