Pantone has named Very Peri, "a periwinkle shade of blue," as its colour of the year for 2022. Encompassing blue tones with a violet-red undertone, this beautiful hue was created for the first time in Pantone history.
Informed by the rise of the metaverse and the transformative times we're living in, Very Peri "displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression." Last year, the colour authority broke tradition and announced not one, but two defining Colors of the Year 2021 that were chosen to help people “fortify themselves with energy, clarity and hope” amidst uncertainty.
"As we move into a world of unprecedented change, the selection of Pantone 17-3938 Very Peri brings a novel perspective and vision of the trusted and beloved blue color family,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of Pantone's Color Institute in a statement.
