This Valentine’s Day, say “I Love You” with a bit of help from K-pop, and not just musically. Get some style inspo from your favourite K-pop stars' music videos, which offer up everything from Galentine’s Day solo power suits to flirty pink numbers. While K-pop fashion stretches back for decades, especially now that Y2K trends are truly back in style, here are some recent, and less recent, picks to get you in the mood for love, whether it’s for date night with a long-term partner or a night of dancing on your own until the sun comes up.

Go all red with these passionate crimson looks inspired by music videos like Nayeon’s "Pop," where the TWICE member goes a bit more sporty and casual with peek-a-boo red numbers.

Speaking of "Peek-A-Boo," Red Velvet's 2017 music video is a timeless tribute to red, with each of the five members presenting a different way to wear the colour, ranging from sweet plaid dresses to striped knits. Rainbow colours and sequins also feature prominently, for anyone looking to bring some pride to their Valentine’s Day.

Another contender is IZ*ONE’s "La Vie En Rose," which presents both timeless lace and flounce looks in neutral tones perfect for the beiger side of TikTok, and some creative ways to charm your partner in red and black combos.

To jump on the corset trend, (G)I-DLE’s "NXDE" is inspired by Hollywood glam, pin-ups, and Moulin Rouge. Dance sequences prominently feature black and red lace, feathers and corsets, which could be well-suited for a night in, too.

And if you want to be really bold and monochrome, red suits or blazers a la Monsta X’s "Love Killa" can make a dramatic statement.

IU’s "Lilac" video may have a bit of a dramatic battle in the middle of it, but the pop icon also spends a lot of its length, as in many of her music videos, wearing rather classic floral and lace looks. Purple satin, billowy white flares, sleek black detailing, and bold flowers paired with romantic hair styling keep things classy while still having a bit of fun. She also shows off how to style the trending ruched look, if you want to go a bit more new-tro with your styling.

Classic suits can be reworked with a dramatic touch if you draw on BTS’ "Black Swan" for inspiration. In the dance-focused video for the captivating song, the septet performs in a variety of sleek black-on-black and white suits, incorporating leather and sleek tailoring into every seam.

KARA’s "When I Move" sees the confident comeback queens donning a variety of party-ready outfits. Whether you’re aiming for some drama in the form of black-sequinned athleisure and red lace rompers, or want to get a bit flirtier with feathery and furry pink looks, these outfits will have you moving and grooving in style.

For more casual alternatives, denim, crop top, and jersey aficionados can draw inspiration and motivation from LE SSERAFIM's bold "Anti-Fragile" music video.

IVE's "Love Dive" gets the best of both worlds, blending both glam and relaxed fashion, pairing leather with tweed and blue-and-grey preppy looks with silver heart adornments and shimmering corsets.

Keep it simple and focus on your makeup! NMIXX’s "Dice" features intense close-ups on the members’ eyes which emphasise bold colour-blocking with glittery easy-to-copy eyeliner and eyeshadow touches which will elevate any look.

EXID’s "I Love You" also presents a lot of great style inspiration, including sporty red suits paired with crop tops. But it’s the subtle heart accessories which will give you the quick style fix you need for the season. Hair clips, sweaters, and sunglasses with subtle heart motifs can put that finishing touch on a last-minute look.
