As the mercury started to climb in London, the city's Fashion Week also got into full swing
As the mercury started to climb in London, the city's Fashion Week also got into full swing. Day Two saw the designers cover a lot of ground, proposing a diverse range of styles that ranged from girly to grown-up.
It didn't matter how you liked to dress up—if you had a penchant for the saccharine, you simply looked to Molly Goddard and House of Holland. Both served up the day's most uplifting collections with plenty of colour and prints remixed with a dash of girlish fun.

And if you preferred taking the experimental route, then J.W. Anderson had the perfect collection for you: He conceptualised a solid showing that explored femininity through sensuous drapes and feathers. Chalayan also staged his return to London in a theatre, where models paraded austere clothes, at times ripping contraptions on their outfits for a dramatic explosion of glitter.

Ports 1961 also moved its show from Milan to the English capital, and Natasa Cagalj and her team impressed with a homecoming collection rich in the use of fabrics, textures and impeccable tailoring. Julien MacDonald, the kingpin of after-dark glamour, armed sexy sirens with even more slinky dresses to add to their arsenal.

At Versus Versace, Donatella Versace stepped deeper into the covers of the night with an outing mostly swathed in black (though fluorescent pinks and blues also made an appearance) and heavily steeped in the beat of the street.

And the day ended with Gareth Pugh's reflection of our collective fears and fantasies—with coats and outerwear in his signature silhouettes and textures that were billowy and bewitching at the same time.
