Check out the latest collections from Roberta Einer, Rixo and Zandra Rhodes at the London Fashion Week spring/summer 2019 shows.

This year, Roberta Einer made her runway debut for her SS19 collection instead of her usual outstanding presentations. And it was about time, really. Like many of us, the Estonian designer looked to travel for inspiration and in her case, it was Morocco. Clashing colours and textures may be a tough thing to fine tune but Einer somehow always gets it just right.

Those with magpie tendencies will be more than familiar with her work, for there is never Roberta without the glitz and the glam. It was a play on all kinds of textures here. Think: Sequins skirts carefully layered under lightweight dresses and crisp blue shirts. Photo: Courtesy

Thick knitted graphic hoodies were styled under asymmetrical floral skirts and complemented with handcrafted waist body bags that were made with vintage offcuts of carpets.

The designer also experimented with Irish linen to mimic the look and feel of denim, also playing with other forms of fabric manipulation like smocking to create off-shoulder blouses. Photo: Courtesy

Embellishments hugged the sleeves of slouchy pyjama co-ords and as tube tops under a classic suit, making this the ultimate summer collection you’ll want to take with from dawn to dusk (Or vice versa, whichever way you roll). Photo: Courtesy

Making their London Fashion Week Debut (with a bang, no doubt), Rixo London presented their SS19 collection earlier today at 17 Floral Street and boy, was it a blast. Photo: London Fashion Week

What we thought was a simple presentation turned out to be an explosion of prints and colour… alongside actual stalls selling fruit and vegetables. And yes, you could buy them with the ‘Rixo Money’ handed to you at the door; Ah… That’s what it was for! Photo: London Fashion Week

It was definitely a sensory overload; from the clashing prints on tea and wrap dresses to faux vintage clip on earrings, RIXO’s SS19 presentation had definitely left everyone reeling with excitement for next summer already.

Co-founders Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey drew inspiration from the ’80s and titled the collection “Love Over Gold”, Princess Diana’s favourite Dire straits album.

Just when you thought clashing prints of polka dots and animal prints was over, they come right back into your shopping basket. Pretty sure they’ll be making waves in the next couple of months! Photo: London Fashion Week

In anticipation for the 50th anniversary of her eponymous label, Zandra Rhodes’ SS19 collection drew from her rich archive of prints from 1969 and also introducing new into the mix.

It was a contrast of textures: with pleated metallic dresses offsetting the softness of printed chiffon. It was a small collection, but each piece said something on its own that spoke volumes. Photo: Courtesy

Not to mention how each piece had been carefully designed and produced in her London atelier; filtered and refined with great attention to detail as well as skillful hand embellishing and hand screen printing.

The star of the show? The gold metallic dress stood by centre stage,  with intricate sunray pleating and complemented with a deep V neckline. You’ll be sure to stand out in that one. Photo: Courtesy
