Milan Fashion Week: 10 Best Looks From Moschino Fall 2016

All the best looks from MFW FW16

Jeremy Scott at Moschino is like a kid in a candy store. Sifting through the archives is like digging through bins of the sweetest bits of fashion history. Also the cheekiest, nuttiest, zaniest. Which makes this a match made in sartorial heaven. Who better to bring back '80s-era denim and black leather, mixed in with some taffeta-prom bows?

Also straight from the '80s, biker chic black with leopard and chains. And mixed into it some questionable copyright pearls and double question marks. But Moschino is all about good fun and poking fun at ourselves and fashion. And if anyone has a sense of humour it's Karl Lagerfeld, right. Right?

From there, Scott's runway imagination was on fire. Like, really on fire. A series of party dresses and tuxedoes (which were smartly done) were burnt at the edges and some still smoking. The effect delighted the crowd and any closeted pyros.

And chandelier earrings? Puh-lease, says Scott. Go for the chandelier dress. Other than the mechanics of getting in a cab and through the door, it moved pretty nicely and certainly would light up any room. (Get it?)

Skeleton suits were seen in the earlier '80s portion of the runway as well as in the latter fire-start segment. In the '80s, it was done via chains draped on the outside of denim and black leather to mimic ribs, hips and major bones. On a peak-shouldered black satin tuxedo, crystals replaced bone. Weird? Yes. But also kind of cool. And it wouldn't be the worst thing to see Lady Gaga rock this at the Oscars when everyone else will be doing the expected... Just saying.
