Paris Fashion Week: Terrific Chanel Tweeds, Forties MiuMiu Flair And Sporty LV Sensibilities
We look to the past, present and future in the final round up of the #pfw2020 season
In the last episode of BAZAAR Daily, the final day of PFW began with Chanel amongst black and tiered seats at the Grand Palais. Virginie Viard looked to the house codes of tweed and black and white, and added an athletic flair and equestrian elements. Miuccia Prada paid homage to the forties retro glamour with long, lean satin dresses, jewel embellishments and plaid patterns. Louis Vuitton rounded off PFW with the contrast between the toughness of leather and the softness of ruffles and silk. Nicolas Ghesquiere showed his signature bomber jacket with a biker spirit and strong pinstripe shows with metallic shows. As another fashion week season draws to a close, we take stock of a rollercoaster start to the new decade, characterised by the hopefulness of a more inclusive and positive global society and the adversity of the Australian wildfires and the Covid-19 virus. While uncertainty looms ahead, more than ever, we look to art, culture, and yes, fashion, that remain the savior of weary souls.
