Roger Vivier Taps Cult Personalities To Star In 'Do We Show'

Following last season's interactive short film starring French actress Isabelle Huppert, Roger Vivier's creative director Gherardo Felloni once again demonstrates his reverence for old Hollywood with a fashion film titled Do We Show.

This time, Felloni enlists five female icons—their lookalikes to be exact—Édith Piaf, Josephine Baker, Marlene Dietrich, Grace Kelly, and Marilyn Monroe, most of whom often wore the brand's pieces. The film sees these emblematic personalities seated at the front row of a fashion show, sporting shoes and bags from Roger Vivier's Fall 2021 collection.

As they wait impatiently for the show to start, the women take to the stage and recite compelling monologues that touch on "the importance of staying hopeful in a periods of uncertainty and distress, the hope and comfort that the stage can provide."

Besides showcasing key pieces from the collection—such as the Covered Buckle Platform Boot and the Viv 'Choc Bag—Do We Show is a playful presentation that reflects the disappointment amid cancelled events and shows. It is also a love letter to entertainers and performers who have been hit hard by the pandemic.

In the words of Felloni, “It would be absurd to act as if it weren’t happening. Instead we need to embrace it, and have some fun with the concept of waiting.”
