There's less than a week until the Victoria's Secret show 2017, but its Shanghai location this year is reportedly causing issues among media circles.

Page Six claims that multiple fashion bloggers due to cover the annual event have been forced to cancel their trips because the Chinese authorities have refused to issue visas. Meanwhile, TV producers are allegedly struggling to gain permission to film outside of the show's main arena. Speculation - which remains unconfirmed - also says that Victoria's Secret employees have been told that every press release must be approved by the Chinese government before being sent to the wider media.

China's ban of Facebook, YouTube, Whatsapp and Google could make coverage of the show slightly more limited than previous years, but doubtlessly the brand will have developed a strategy to ensure that the event still receives vast international coverage.

A spokesperson for Victoria's Secret could not be reached.
