From its beloved ballet flats and loafers to its quilted Kira bag and belted Lee Radziwill bag, Tory Burch has a proven track record when it comes to producing bestselling accessories. This season, the brand adds another hit to its arsenal with the updated Eleanor bag. First introduced for fall/winter 2020, the Eleanor immediately stood out for its sleek, boxy shape and its oversized, sculptural hardware. Composed of two exaggerated Ts, the ornamental clasp is a nod to the arabesques found in Moorish architecture. For the Resort 2024 collection, that standout element has been jazzed up even more.

Just in time for the festive season, the Eleanor’s clasp now comes embellished with crystals or mirrored mosaic—the glinting hardware lending the bag a precious, jewel-like appearance that is guaranteed to steal the spotlight on a night out. There are two versions of the new Eleanor bag: The first has a crystal-encrusted clasp and comes in lustrous velvet trimmed with grosgrain, with a twisted rope chain to up the glamour factor even further. The taupe velvet bag sports silver hardware, while the black velvet one is paired with gold.
The other clasp, which is mirrored, is fitted onto all-leather versions of the Eleanor that come in either black or white—lending a bit of drama to what is an otherwise sleek and understated bag.

This juxtaposition of quiet silhouettes and bold textures is a story that plays throughout the Resort 2024 collection. Take the shift dress rendered in four different materials and colours, and a halter handkerchief top studded with metal all over.
Some things were not quite what they seemed: A camel coat was made from viscose glazed to look like leather; while a boxy black jacket was crafted from patent leather laser-cut to mimic feathers.

There were also other contrasts at play: Burch oscillated between hard and soft, matte and shiny, sheer and opaque, serious and playful. The best encapsulation of that last duality must be the zip-front black top—almost a very streamlined bomber—paired with a lightly flared skirt printed with blown-up portraits of bunnies. It would make the perfect foil for a pared-back box bag with blinged-out hardware.
