Tory Sport Opens Its First Store In New York

NYC's Flatiron District, home to countless fitness studios, is now also home to Tory Sport's first official brick and mortar. The Tory Burch activewear line was launched last September and now holds real estate on lower Fifth Avenue.

At 3,900 square feet, it's ample space for the brand's sportswear line, which includes performance clothing, bags, shoes and accessories (prices range from $35 to $495). The interiors include athletic-inspired stripes, sauna-like wood accents and videos celebrating iconic athletes playing on large screens. More leisurely shoppers can take repose in a sitting room furnished with Jean Royère pieces.

"We thought about the casual vibe of a Seventies surf lodge and reimagined it with Scandinavian design principles. With clean, simple lines and a completely flexible interior, the store balances functionality with style," Burch said in a statement.

The designer is "thrilled" for the storefront opening, which follows the success of her Tory Sport pop-up downtown in Nolita in September 2015.
