Dancer, model and actress Larsen
Thompson may be just 20 years of age but she has already an enviable resume to
her name. Having found fame on the international arena in 2016 when her
choreographed YouTube videos for “IDFWU” and “Run the World” went viral with 4
million and 8 million views respectively, she has since danced alongside Christina
Aguilera, Katy Perry, P!nk and Sia, while modelling for brands the likes of
Dior, Fendi and Marc Jacobs. Her lead role in the drama film Pearl (2020), and another film, American Cherry, due for release later
this year, shows that she’s set on making her mark on Hollywood too.

Her latest project sees her fronting the Voices of PANDORA campaign, along with models Georgia May Jagger and Halima Aden, artist Tasya van Ree and influencer Margaret Zhang. Known as the Pandora Muses, they are a global collective of inspiring women who represent values important to the brand, including inclusivity, social responsibility and female empowerment. In celebration of 20 years of storytelling through jewellery, the brand launched its Voices of PANDORA activation, including a campaign directed by New York fashion photographer Cass Bird. It’s the brand’s first self-shot ambassador campaign that presents personalised accounts from their ambassadors on their thoughts and feelings about the Danish jewellery brand. Thompson tells us more.

You’ve danced in music videos with some amazing stars and modelled for several fashion campaigns. Tell us about your favourite memorable experiences.

I was fortunate to work on P!nk’s “Beautiful Trauma” official dance video. I was able to fuse my love of dance, fashion, and acting by telling a story! P!nk has been an inspiration to me since I was a little girl so to be a lead in this project and work alongside her was the most amazing experience. Another all-time memorable moment was shooting the Maybelline global campaign last year. It was a dream come true for me to work with Adriana Lima who is a legend and role model I look up to within the modelling industry. Of course, working so much with the amazing PANDORA team has been another highlight!

Describe your personal style and how it has changed as you’ve gotten older.

My personal style is very edgy, unique, and sophisticated. As I’ve gotten older, I like to take more risks and truly have fun when it comes to fashion and being myself. Fashion has always been an outlet for me to express my personality and individuality.

What has been your favourite moment as a PANDORA Muse? Tell us about your favourite or most-often worn pieces in your personal collection.

It would have to be our trip to PANDORA’s crafting facility in Thailand. It was the most amazing experience to be able to see first-hand how their jewellery is made. It was inspiring to see their commitment to sustainability while creating beautiful pieces that I love wearing every day! My most worn and favourite piece would have to be my charm bracelet. It carries memories, my loves, my passions, and brings me so much joy to look down at my wrist and see how much meaning a bracelet can hold.

On your 18th birthday, you shared a dance video with a powerful personal message about embracing your own imperfections and loving yourself. What does self-love mean to you?

Self-love means everything to me. Being a red head, fair skinned, and freckled, was something I was insecure about as a young girl. As I grew up, it became the very thing that I loved most about myself because it made me unique and different. I want young girls to know that they are wonderfully and beautifully made just as they are, and they don’t need to change anything about themselves.

Say something to your Singapore fans and when can we expect you here?

I look forward to the opportunity to visit you all in Singapore. I’m excited to experience your culture, fashion, and hopefully take a few dance classes when I’m there!
