The first photo of Beyoncé and Jay Z’s twins is finally here!

Leave it to Bey to release the first photo of Sir and Rumi Carter — born 13 June — when nobody is expecting it. The image shows Beyoncé holding her son and daughter in front of a floral arrangement, wearing a purple gown and teal tulle veil in a nod to her iconic pregnancy announcement earlier this year.
The artist — today named the highest-paid musician of 2016 by Billboard — gave birth to the twins on Tuesday, June 13 at UCLA Medical Center. Although reports of their birth later that Saturday left some fans skeptical, Beyoncé's father Mathew Knowles confirmed their birth on 18 June. The proud granddad shared on Twitter, "They're here!#beyonce #twins #jayz #happybirthday."

This photo of the newborns arrives one month after their birth. For their older sister Blue Ivy Carter, who is now five years old, fans also waited a month after she was born before Beyoncé and Jay Z shared photos of her via Tumblr. This photo shows Blue, the Carters' first child, in her mother's arms after her birth. (Spoiler alert: Bey still looks stunning.)
