The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a baby boy.

Kensington Palace announced that the Duchess of Cambridge had gone into the early stages of labour on Monday morning (23 April). At 11.01 hours, an - as of yet, unnamed - baby boy was delivered safely.

The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth at the Lindo Wing of St Mary's hospital in west London and the baby weighed 8lbs 7oz.

The new baby is the couple's third child after George, four, and two-year-old Charlotte, and is fifth in line to the throne.

Here are all the lovely pictures from the build-up and immediate aftermath of the birth outside the hospital.
