When travelling, my slogan is always: Better safe than sorry. We always travel around with at least six suitcases filled to the brim with everything we might need. I have two kids, Jolie, five, and Alain, nine months, so it's important to keep them entertained and occupied when we're on trips! These are some things that I always remember to pack:

1. A portable DVD player

I always have a portable DVD player with me when we're on the move. During a long flight it is ideal as the kids can watch a movie. They are often already included in the plane but it's also perfect for the hotel. Now and then, Jolie likes to watch a movie and it’s also very relaxing for Alain during a long flight.

2. Multi-tasking clothes

Wear clothes on the plane where you can’t directly see spots on. Personally, I like to wear comfortable clothes like the Skylar dress. It’s easy to wear, and when I'm holding Alain, spots or stains don't show up on it.

3. Essential skincare

Wherever you go, you should always take a small bottle of sun lotion and a sunhat in your hand luggage. This lets you protect your child's sensitive skin from the sun the minute you land at your destination. The Ella hat is too big for Jolie but she always want to wear it when I wear it too.

4. Toys, toys, toys

Take toys with you that don’t take up that much space in your luggage! Paper and colour pencils are favourites of mine and my children's. Oh yes, the most important thing to take? Your child's favourite stuffed animals! Normally, I just ask Jolie to pack a small bag with all her favourite toys.

5. A huge travel bag

Last but not least, a huge travel bag is arguably the most important item you could possibly take with you. I always carry one because it's so easy to just throw everything in and carry it around. Plus, it doesn't hurt that it's a super chic accessory too!
