7 Things To Know About Pippa Middleton's Fiancé, James Matthews

The United Kingdom's most eligible bridesmaid is finally going to be a bride. But before we start speculating about every detail of the nuptials, let's meet her Prince Charming. Here's everything we know about Pippa Middleton's fiancé (and Kate's future brother-in-law) James Matthews.

1. JAMES WORKS IN FINANCE.

According to the International Business Times, James is the chief executive of Eden Rock Capital Management Group, a hedge fund that he launched more than 10 years ago. And based on the size of Pippa's engagement ring, I think it's fair to say the venture has been successful.

2. LIKE PIPPA, HE'S AN ADVENTURE SPORTS ENTHUSIAST.

The duo has taken part in athletic events from Norway's Birkebeiner, the world's largest ski race, to Otilo, Sweden's 47-mile swim/run competition. When they aren't out in the elements, the sports fans clean up nicely. The couple was seen cheering on the sidelines of this year's Wimbledon tournament (pictured above).

3. HE'S A FEW YEARS OLDER THAN PIPPA.

While it's hardly a May-December romance, Matthews has a few years on his bride-to-be. He is 40 and Middleton is just 32. Reportedly, the pair had been dating for less than a year when Matthews popped the question, but they had a previous relationship in 2012. They wedding is said to be sometime next year.

4. HIS FAMILY IS IN THE HOTEL BUSINESS.

His parents, David and Jane Matthews, own the luxurious Eden Rock Hotel in St. Barths, where the couple vacationed over New Year's Eve this past December.

5. SPENCER MATTHEWS, HIS BROTHER, IS A REALITY STAR.

Matthews isn't the only brother in the public eye. His brother Spencer stars in Made in Chelsea, a reality show, which follows wealthy British twentysomethings. He also starred on a British version of The Bachelor and briefly appeared on I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. Never one to shy away from the spotlight, Spencer has made headlines forrecreational steroid use, and the number of women he has slept with. Can you imagine him sitting near the Royal Family the wedding? Here's hoping he asks the Queen for a dance.

Matthews' older brother Michael died tragically at 22 after becoming the youngest British person to summit Mount Everest's legendary peak. Matthews and his family establishedthe Michael Matthews Foundation in his honor, a charity organization that promotes education by building schools in remote areas. Matthews also has a sister named Nina.

6. HE WAS JUST A FEW YEARS AHEAD OF PRINCE WILLIAM AT ETON COLLEGE.

When it comes to dating, Pippa and Kate have at least one thing in common: they prefer Eton men. Both Prince William and Matthews attended the famous British boys' boarding school.

BUT HE NEVER ATTENDED UNIVERSITY.

Matthews skipped higher education to train as a trader at Spear Leeds & Kellogg, which is now part of Goldman Sachs.

7. EVEN IF HE ISN'T PRINCE HARRY (WHOM MANY HOPED PIPPA WOULD DATE), HE HAS CURRIED FAVOR WITH HIS FUTURE IN-LAWS.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released a statement saying they are "absolutely delighted" by the news of Pippa's engagement. Pippa's parents, Michael and Carole Middleton are reportedly "absolutely thrilled."

"They make a wonderful couple and we wish them every happiness together," Middleton said.
