Orlando Bloom Is Producing And Starring In His Own TV Show

Orlando Bloom has signed up for his first lead TV role in a new Amazon Video series Carnival Row. Deadline reports the actor will also produce the neo-noir fantasy drama.

Set in a dangerous alternate reality, Bloom will play a detective investigating the death of a circus showgirl.

He's the latest Hollywood A-lister we usually see in blockbuster movies seizing opportunities in TV, with the likes of Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman taking to the small screen in hit novel adaptation Big Little Lies, and Charlize Theron executive-producing Netflix's big budget serial killer thriller Mindhunter, which starts streaming in September.

 After a poor reception to the latest Pirates of the Caribbean instalment earlier this year, Bloom may well be looking for a new role to get stuck into.
