The $100,000+ Gift Bag for 2018 Oscar Nominees Is Incredibly Lavish
They still get big prizes even if they don’t win the statue
When it comes to the Oscars, it’s an honor just to be nominated. But it’s also a huge perk. That’s because all nominees get to take home a gift bag full of goodies worth six figures.
Though there’s not an official Oscars gift bag—that got nixed because of tax concerns in 2006—marketing firm Distinctive Assets puts together unofficial “Everyone Wins” nominee gift bags and delivers them to nominees in the major categories. This year, they’re not revealing how much it’s worth beyond the general six figures, but Insider notes that the 26 bags will be worth more than $100,000 each, including a vacation worth $40,000.
Here’s what the nominees will get this year:
A 12-night trip to Tanzania for two, courtesy of International Expeditions, reportedly worth $40,000
A 7-day, 6-night trip to the Koloa Landing Resort in Hawaii, including ziplining, a helicopter tour, and a catamaran tour BUY
