Prince William and Prince Harry suited up for the European premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi this evening. The royal brothers hit the red carpet without their significant others — Kate Middleton or Meghan Markle—but they made a dapper appearance nonetheless, in matching suits and bowties.

After walking past a formation of Stormtroopers (whom they're rumoured to play in the film), they were greeted by a real-life BB-8:

And the droid even bowed to them:

They also shook hands with and talked to the cast, which includes Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, and Laura Dern. Prince William even had a moment with Luke Skywalker (AKA Hamill).

Though it's been reported that the princes make a secret cameo in the film (disguised as Stormtroopers), the royals have yet to confirm the rumours. However, Boyega, who plays ex-Stormtrooper Finn, basically let slip that Their Royal Highnesses did indeed step in front of the camera.

According to the actor, Tom Hardy and singer Gary Barlow also made hidden cameos, and called the motley group of guest stars a "strange contrast of a weird family." He added, "It's the best of both worlds for me."

Rumours of William and Harry's potential cameo first spread earlier this summer, but it's believed that they filmed their scenes when they visited the Last Jedi set at Pinewood Studios in April 2016. They were both presented with their own Stormtrooper helmets during the ceremony as well. (Perhaps as a memento for their brief onscreen roles.)

Prince William and Prince Harry weren't only teasing their Star Wars cameo with their red carpet appearance tonight; they were were also there for a philanthropic reason. The premiere benefits The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, the main vehicle for the royals' charitable works.

You have to watch this video teaser that was made in the lead up to this grand event:
