Prince William took a moment to pay a sweet tribute to Kate Middleton during his royal tour of Jordan today. While visiting Jerash, one of the country's famous archeological sites, he stopped for a photo at the same spot where the Duchess of Cambridge posed when she was four years old with her family.

In Middleton's original, her father, Michael, and sister, Pippa, are also in the shot. The young Duchess and her family lived in Amman, Jordan's capital, for two and a half years when her father was stationed there as a British Airways manager, The Telegraph reports. The photo of toddler-aged Kate was released ahead of her and William's wedding in 2011.

Middleton isn't traveling with William during this trip; she's home with their kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, who was just born on April 23. However, the Duke of Cambridge gave a nod to her while giving a speech on the first night of his visit.

Kate "is very sorry she cannot be here with me so soon after the birth of our son Louis, but her family remembers very fondly the almost three years she spent here as a child when her father worked for British Airways in Amman," William said at a party following his arrival Sunday night, per People.

"Catherine’s experience is not unique — the interchange between our two countries is real and deep: work, study, tourism and family links," he added.

This marks the second day of Prince William's visit to Jordan. In addition to visiting Jerash, he also met with young Syrian refugees benefiting from UNICEF's Makani program, and later visited a new base for the Quick Reaction Force, which has British military support.

Crown Prince Hussein, the 23-year-old son of Queen Rania and King Abdullah II, has been acting as tour guide for most of Prince William's stay. He even hosted the Duke to watch a soccer game at the Beit Al Urdun Palace after dinner last night.
