Victoria Beckham Reveals She Used To Lip Sync During Spice Girls Concerts

Rumours that, you know, she can't really sing have long followed Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham basically ever since she got her start in the Spice Girls. Even the few solo lines she did land in songs, she was often accused of not actually singing during live shows, a blasphemous accusation in an era in which lip syncing was considered shameful (but still all too common). And during a talk in London this week, Beckham revealed that those rumours were all too true.

"They used to turn [the mic] off and just let the others sing," she revealed. Nowadays, however, she doesn't let herself be silenced.  "I got the last laugh — and now my mic is well and truly on, finally," she said, smiling. If only she was still singing, though.

Talking of her past life, Beckham also admitted that she never felt quite comfortable being a party girl. "When all the other girls were being fun and spontaneous and jumping on tables, I was always the one checking the table wasn't going to collapse. I was always the sensible one," she said. "Luckily because I used to wear heels, I just used to jig about a bit and I got away with it but it never came easily. I was always much more reserved than the other girls."

But it seems it was totally worth it for the wardrobe perks. "I was always the one that loved fashion — and it was quite a result for me because the girls always used to get their clothes for free because they were crap and so there was a lot of budget for me to have my little Gucci dress."
