Carrie and the girls are coming back for more.
Yes, that's right, And Just Like That... was renewed for a third season. Even though the Sex and the City spinoff (sans Kim Cattrall) often kickstarts social media debates regarding it's at times questionable storylines, there's no arguing that the adventures of Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York Goldenblatt still control the cultural conversation.
HBO announced the series renewal just a day before it's highly anticipated season 2 finale which featured a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo from Kim Cattrall's fan favorite character, Samantha Jones.
“We are thrilled to spend more time in the Sex and the City universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors,” the show's creator Michael Patrick King said in a press release. “And Just Like That… Here comes season three.”

The end of AJLT's second season found Carrie saying goodbye to her beloved apartment and ready to move forward with her rekindled ex-fiancé, Aidan Shaw. By the episode's end however, due to Aidan's youngest son getting into a car accident in a clear cry for help, Aidan tells Carrie he can't be with her fully until his son is fully grown. He asks for Carrie to "wait five years" and if they waited this long to be together again, time will go by in a flash.
As for the rest of the gang, Miranda calls a truce with her two exes, Steve and Che, and Charlotte is working to get back in the swing of working full time while sharing responsibilities with Harry. Seema is in love with her charming Marvel actor boyfriend (but won't drop everything to move with him while he's on location for work) and Nya seems to have finally met her romantic match (a very hot chef) following her divorce.

Will Kim Cattrall return as Samantha?

And Just Like That...
Never say never...but it seems unlikely. Cattrall seems to have hinted in previous interviews she agreed to the cameo to mark the 25th anniversary of the series as a gift to fans and for that reason only.

Due to the ongoing writer's strike in Hollywood, season 3 may take a while to come to fruition. We may not see our favorite girls again until late 2024 at the earliest.
