When was the last time you gushed over your mom on social media for no apparent reason other than the fact that you wanted to?

For 19-year-old Ava Phillippe, that was last night in a heartwarming Instagram post dedicated to her Legally Blonde superstar of a mother, Reese Witherspoon.

“This is the gorgeous woman who taught me about the power of graciousness, love, ambition, and hard work,” Phillippe wrote, captioning a seemingly candid photo of Witherspoon adjusting a pair of pearl earrings in front of a gorgeous floral wallpaper backdrop.

“She inspires me everyday to live with gratitude for the life I’ve been given and compassion for others. I’m thinking about her a little extra today, that’s all,” Phillippe continued.

The Big Little Lies actress commented on the post with another affectionate statement, “How did I get so lucky to have a daughter like you?”

From vacationing together in Rome to playfully posing for photo shoots, the bond between this mother-daughter duo is strong for many reasons.

According to an interview posted on the blog for Draper James, Witherspoon’s clothing line, the two share a moral compass and convictions—even if they may differ over fashion sense.

“I think the way Ava and I are most alike is our strong opinions and our empathy. From the time that she could speak, Ava has always had her own ideas, and I love to watch her express herself,” Witherspoon said.

“The best thing about how my mom has influenced my style is that, while I do take her advice, it’s still my own,” Phillippe later added. “I think as a teenager, it’s important to have both guidance and freedom in finding your style, and my mom is really good at balancing that.”

Now, please excuse me while I call my own mom.
