Britney Spears Reacts After Concerned Fans Direct Police To Her Home

“I love and adore my fans but this time things went a little too far and my privacy was invaded.”

Britney Spears’s Husband, Sam Asghari, Breaks His Silence amid Fans’ Concerns over Her Health

Britney Spears is asking her fans for space and privacy after a string of concerned followers directed police to her home earlier this week.

"As everyone knows the police were called to my home based on some prank phone calls," the "Toxic" singer wrote on Twitter Thursday. "I love and adore my fans but this time things went a little too far and my privacy was invaded."

Some fans first became worried for Spears after she deactivated her Instagram account Tuesday—something she has done many times before.

A spokesperson for the Ventura County Sheriff's Office told TMZ that around 11 p.m. that day, they began to receive phone calls from Spears fans saying the star had deleted her account and asking for police to perform a wellness check.

Police then went to check on Spears at her Calabasas, California, home and determined there was no reason to believe she was in danger, the outlet reported.

"This felt like I was being gaslit and bullied once the incident made it to the news and being portrayed once again in a poor and unfair light by the media," Spears wrote in her statement. "During this time in my life, I truly hope the public and my fans who I care so much about can respect my privacy moving forward. All the love, B."

Spears's Instagram account remains deactivated as of Friday, January 27, but she is still active on Twitter.
