The Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge Attend State Banquet With Donald And Melania Trump

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a State Banquet at Buckingham Palace this evening, hosted by the Queen as part of President Trump's State Visit to the UK.
The palace hosted 170 guests for the formal dinner, held in the ballroom at Buckingham Palace.
Kate was pictured arriving at the event by car wearing the Cambridge Lovers Knot tiara, with sapphire droplet earrings, her hair pulled back into a neat chignon.

The royal wore an elegant white Alexander McQueen gown with ruffled skirt to attend the formal dinner, arriving with the United States Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin. She paired her gown with a blue sash and the yellow ribbon of the Queen's Royal Order.

Donald and Melania Trump posed for a picture with the Queen, Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, ahead of the dinner. As with earlier in the day, both Melania and Camilla opted to wear white, with the First Lady in a Dior column gown and elbow-length gloves, and the duchess in a long-sleeved Bruce Oldfield dress and tiara.

This time, the Queen also opted to join them in a co-ordinating white outfit by her dressmaker Angela Kelly. Both President Trump and Prince Charles wore formal evening attire; the President in white tie and the royal in full service dress.

In a speech during the banquet, the Queen said: "Tonight we celebrate an alliance that has helped to ensure the safety and prosperity of both our peoples for decades, and which I believe will endure for many years to come."

Earlier in the evening, the Royal Family's official Twitter account shared behind-the-scenes images of the preparation of the banquet in the Buckingham Palace ballroom, including the table settings and beautiful floral displays.
