What to expect from the latest lineup

The BMW 7 Series marks the seventh generation of the brand's flagship model. Prioritising comfort for long-distance travelers and innovative digital features, the series maximises spaciousness in the rear compartment and comes with a new and improved in-car infotainment system. BMW's classic car exteriors are reimagined through a distinctively luxurious lens, as crystals from Swarovski are arranged in L-shapes and backlit by LED units to act as sidelights and daytime driving lights. Impressive new interior features include a significantly simpler cockpit with fewer buttons, the largest selection of automated driving and parking systems ever offered for a BMW model, and the ability to make phone calls using the car's audio system from the rear seat.

The semi-automatic door mechanism on the BMW 7 Series is another key highlight. Passengers can open or close the front and rear doors with the touch of a button, while visible and audible signals alert users that the semi-automatic door system has been activated. An integral servo mode also allows the doors to be opened and closed manually with little effort. In the interest of safety, the vehicles come equipped with a collision protection function when opening the doors, thanks to 12 ultrasound sensors located on either side of the car, and a sensitive obstruction alert when closing them.

Other highlights from the cars featured at the launch event included split headlights and a newly-designed instrument panel on the BMW X7, which has quickly developed into the most successful BMW model in the luxury class. Passengers can expect seats with active ventilation and a massage function, while drivers will get to enjoy a Sport leather steering wheel with gearshift paddles, and a tray for wirelessly charging compatible mobile phones. A panoramic glass sunroof and surround sound system also guarantees 360-degree luxury for all BMW X7 owners.

The new BMW 8 Series Coupé and BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé were designed with the driver in mind, with Crafted Clarity glass elements on the start button and BMW Controller and a soft-close function for the doors, in order to achieve a unique balance between dynamic performance and luxurious elegance. The onboard monitor's touchscreen enables fast and intuitive operation of vehicle functions like the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, BMW Maps, BMW Head-Up Display, wireless smartphone integration, and a multimedia system.

They will also be eligible for two-way airport limousine transfers, cleaning and polishing packages for their BMW cars, a 'collect and deliver' service which will bring their cars to and from preferred locations for servicing appointments, and BMW's Service Inclusive Plus and Extended Warranty, meaning comprehensive protection against unprotected costs.

Celebrate the launch of the BMW 7 on social media

From 16 to 30 November, BMW will celebrate the launch of the new BMW 7 Series with a digital billboard on the side wall of Mandarin Gallery on Orchard Road. The digital billboard display shows a video telling the story behind the new series through high-tech, colourful visuals and close-up looks at the vehicle. Look out for the luxurious crystals raining during the showcase with the AR app PopAR, and start catching as many as you can by screen-grabbing them.
