This Princess Diana Gown Is Expected To Sell For $145,000 At Auction

Two of the many gowns from Princess Diana's iconic wardrobe are up for auction next month. One of them is expected to sell for a royal price: $145,000, People reports.

The blue-green sequined gown by Catherine Walker was designed for the former Princess of Wales' visit to Austria in 1986 and she wore it several times afterwards.

Princess Diana previously sold it at Christie's in New York in 1997, three months before she died. In 2013 it was sold by Kerry Taylor Auctions for $131,000 and on June 14, the auction house has the dress listed to sell for between $117,000 and $145,000.

Along with the Catherine Walker design, another Princess Diana dress will be sold at the auction: a teal tartan wool day dress from Emanuel couture, the same designer that made her wedding dress. The ensemble was worn by Diana during her 1985 trip to Venice and is expected to sell for between $14,000 and $22,000.
