Singapore Fashion Week 2016 Day 4 Review: Naeem Khan

The designer brought his brand of red carpet glamour to this Little Red Dot—and more

“Spring 2017 is dedicated to my mentor, Halston, whom I worked for in the '70s,” stated the show notes at last night's Naeem Khan presentation. “The collection is vibrant in colour inspired by my deep love of cooking. To me, taste has colour.” In that same vein, Khan sent out a flavourful collection rich in options to please the varied sartorial tastebuds of women. The Indian designer, who found success dressing the likes of FLOTUS Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, kickstarted his show with a series of disco-ready streamlined dresses that recalled the heydays of Halston. Then it was back to classic Khan: Red carpet-worthy frocks that bore the exquisite mark of hours upon hours of artisanal handiwork. Embroidery and lace exploded on dreamy confections, while a passage of glass-fringed dresses in pop hues danced with every step.
