Men’s Fashion Week: Hermès Menswear Spring/Summer 2021 collection
The collection is a carefree expression of lightness and simplicity
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hermes’ menswear artistic director Véronique Nichanian opted to show her spring/summer 2021 collection via a video presentation with a special collaboration with visual artist Cyril Teste.
The collection is all about timeless casualness, where the silhouettes are streamlined and the fabric light.
The gaiety of spring and summer is represented by way of soothing colours such as pale blue, Mediterranean blue, storm blue, almond green, stone, gravel, off-white, rope, white and a hint of fluorescent yellow.
Materials used include cotton poplin, fluorescent water-repellent Plume canvas, as well as leather such as deerskin and calfskin.
Stripes are also used liberally throughout the collection on blousons, as well as blazers.
But the highlight of this collection is surely the Haut à courroies Cargo bag in H canvas and Evercalf calfskin. Roomy and utilitarian looking, it’s definitely one of our favourite items in Nichanian’s latest showing.
