Enter this welcome wisdom, then, from Michael Ashton – Adele's long-serving make-up artist. The hands behind her iconic feline flicks pays as much attention to the lower eyelids as the upper ones, because they need priming, too.

"Dusting powder on top of concealer can cause creasing," he told The Cut. "Prepping concealer with a primer first does not."
So unlearn all you've heard about setting your concealer with powder (unless, of course, you are totally smooth of skin) and look to your eye primer instead – because if it's intended to prevent your eyeshadow creasing, it'll do the same for your concealer and foundation as well.
Ashton's fave is the Marc Jacobs Under(Cover) Perfecting Coconut Eye Primer, S$69, that has a smooth and silicone-y, yet light formula.
